Weather In Ipoh :

This is one of the best parks in Ipoh! Sam Poh Tong :

Sam Poh Tong is a famous cave temple located about 5 kilometers South of Ipoh. It is the biggest cave temple in the country and is an impressive work of art. The main thing to see here are the statues of Buddha interspersed among the stalactites and stalagmites.

Legend has it that the cave was discovered in 1890 by a monk from China who was passing through Ipoh. He decided to make this cave his home and a place for meditation. He stayed here until the end of his life for about 20 years. Till date, monks and nuns who dedicate their lives to the Buddha and Buddhism still occupy the Sam Poh Tong.
The present temple facade dates back to the 1950s and is a stiff climb of 246 steps. It will lead you to an open cave with an excellent view of Ipoh. Other attractions of the temple include a beautiful Japanese pond which is full of Japanese carps and tortoises, which are symbols of longevity. 



Ling Sen Tong Temple :

Ling Sen Tong is a majestic Taoist cave temple located at the foot of a limestone hill in Ipoh. The meaning of the name is Rock of Heavenly Spirits. Ling Sen Tong cave temple is located right next to Nam Thean Tong and Sam Poh Tong. It is right off at Jalan Gopeng which is located on the southern outskirts of Ipoh.
The main temple is adorned with many statues of various different designs
 - there are various deities, animals and other characters from the Chinese folklore. The garden in front is decorated with colorful statues of characters from Chinese mythology. One such example is the Monkey King from the classic tale Journey to the West.

Nam Thin Tong Temple :

Legend says this temple was discovered by a Chinese Taoist priest named Kuong San Teik in 1867. Nam Thin Tong Temple literally translated means Cave of the Southern Sky. It is located between the cave of Sam Poh Tong and Cave of Ling Sen Tong. Nan Tian Dong Taoist Cave Temple is right between Ling Xian Yan and further inward, Sam Poh Tong Buddhist Cave Temple. It used to be ranked at par with the Sam Poh Tong and whenever you mentioned Sam Poh Tong, it was automatically associated with the name of Nam Tian Tong. "Tong" is referred as "cave" while "Nan" is the South and the word "Tian" is the sky; so if you translate that further, the Cave host the various Buddhist figures from the Southern Sky (heaven). There are illustrations of various colorful personalities and characters at the lower portion of the temple’s entry section. This is a Taoist Temple in nature. Its alternative name is Nan Dao Yuan ("Nam Tou Yun" in Cantonese) which basically means College of Southern Religious Principles. Kwan Yin Tong Temple

Kwan Yin Tong of Goddess of Mercy Cave Temple is also like all other famous temples located at Gunung Rapat. The limestone hill here has a maximum number of cave temples in Ipoh.  There are 75 statues of Kwan Yin here. Kwan Yin is the bodhisattva of compassion as established by East Asian Buddhists, who is usually a female. The name Guanyin means "Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the World".
Another attraction at Kwan Yin Tong Cave Temple is its water feature. The area is designed like a Japanese wishing fountain. So make a wish while you step on the stones and cross from one end to the other!

Han Chin Pet Soo History Museum

Han Chin Pet Soo was one of the most prominent heritage houses back in the day. It was always a source of curiosity amongst the locals who never got to enter it. It provides an insight into the unethical events at the tin miners’ club where gambling, prostitution, opium smoking and triad activities were carried out behind the elegant face of the club. This exhibition also tells us about the story of the Hakka people and gives an explanation on the tin mining industry.
This is your chance to step back in time. The four evils which tempted and tormented Hakka tin miners are explained in some detail in the museum. This unique exhibition is suitable for all races and religions which provide a great detail about the early history of the Chinese in Ipoh. On one level, there are reconstructed rooms from the 1930s and 1960s era. Do not miss out on this showcase of the migration of the Hakka community from China!

Gunung Lang Recreational Park

Gunung Lang Recreational Park is located off Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman Road. Opened in October 2000, it covers an area of 30.35 hectares out of which 14.16 hectares consists of the lake. The park here is divided into two sections. The entire recreational spot is developed around a scenic backdrop of the limestone hills of Gunung Lang and Gunung Bilike.

One of the main attractions of this place is the man-made cascading waterfall atop a limestone hill. There is also a 2 kilometers broad walk over the swamp and lookout towers. There are also other facilities like a children’s playground, campsite, mini zoo, a prayer room and washrooms.



Gaharu Tea Valley

Gaharu Tea Valley was set up approximately 20 years ago, covering 300 acres of elevated grounds. At one point in time, there were approximately 200,000 Gaharu trees. Also because at that point 90% of the produce was to meet the demands from global markets primarily China, Taiwan, the Middle East, China, Japan, and Korea.
According to stories that revolve around the region, the species that are grown on Gaharu Tea Valley were adapted from Japan and brought over to Malaysia by Gaharu Technologies. In this valley, tourists are able to enjoy expansive views of the Agarwood trees being grown in the area. Breathing in fresh air is just an added perk!
